The WMU was formed in 1967 under the leadership of the late Mrs Dora Lim, one of the seven founder members of KPRBC. Its objectives are:
1. to strengthen the devotional lives of its members,
2. to support evangelism and missions ventures,
3. to be good and faithful stewards of God in the giving of time and talents.
Conducted in Cantonese for female adults, Bible study, sharing of testimonies, and fellowship are the mainstay of this fellowship group. Occasionally, there are also health talks, cooking classes, outings, flower arrangement and literacy classes. Unique to the WMU is the "ten-cents-a-day" savings programme. Every quarter, the savings are collected for the support of special projects, namely missions.
Apart from these fellowship meetings the WMU serves actively in the evangelism ministry, the preparation of refreshments, the choir, ushering, visitation, and Sunday School. Thrice yearly, members' birthdays are celebrated together and on these special occasions the members try to reach out to their non-Christian friends and relatives. The WMU also supports the initiatives of the Singapore Baptist Convention: participation in the Asian Baptist Women Union Conference, and "adoption" of the inmates of the Baptist Golden Age Home through a monthly donation.
